Wollongong Demolition is a lead referral service. We do not carry out demolition, excavation, asbestos removal or waste disposal. Enquiries submitted here are referred to independent, third-party contractors operating across the Illawarra, the Southern Highlands and the Shoalhaven.
Licensing
Demolition work in NSW is licensed, and the licence class required depends on the nature and scale of the work. Asbestos removal is licensed separately again, with different classes covering friable and non-friable material.
Those licences are held by the contractor who carries out your job, not by this website.
Demolition work arranged through this site is carried out by A.C.N. 670 293 875 Pty Ltd, trading as Civillink Logistics (ABN 90 670 293 875), holder of NSW demolition licence AD214819, recorded as current on the Verify NSW register with an expiry date of 8 September 2031. That is the only licence we state, and you should verify it yourself on the Verify NSW asbestos and demolition register rather than relying on this page.
We make no representation that any contractor holds any other licence, class or accreditation. We do not verify insurance continuously. Before work starts, ask to see the licence and the certificate of currency.
Asbestos
We do not remove asbestos and we do not refer asbestos removal to demolition crews as part of a general scope. Asbestos removal is carried out by separately licensed asbestos removalists.
A demolition licence is not an asbestos removal licence. They are separate authorisations under NSW law, and holding one says nothing about the other. The demolition licence named above does not cover asbestos removal, and nothing on this site should be read as suggesting it does.
If you are told by anyone that asbestos can simply be knocked down with the rest of the structure, or handled without a licensed removalist where a licence is required, stop and get another opinion. Post-war Illawarra housing contains a great deal of asbestos cement sheeting, and how it is handled is a regulated matter, not a commercial preference.
Approvals
Demolition generally requires development consent or a complying development certificate, and councils commonly require a waste management plan and evidence of service disconnections. Heritage listings and conservation area controls change the pathway.
A contractor can tell you what your job is likely to require based on experience nearby. Councils and accredited certifiers decide. Nobody on this site can promise you an approval or a timeframe, and you should treat anyone who does with caution.
